Experience
For over a decade, Alistair has written across both the consumer technology and automotive sectors, covering everything from smart home tech, iPhones, and bitcoin, to the rise of Tesla, autonomous vehicles, supercars, resto-modded classics, and racing games. In 2017 Alistair traded in his role as Deputy Technology Editor and decided to go freelance. Since then he has tested hundreds of cars, covered thousands of miles in dozens of electric vehicles, and could probably talk for an hour straight about the joys – and otherwise – of the UK's public charging network. When he isn't meticulously planning EV road trips, Alistair can be found touring the Oxfordshire countryside in restored classic Ferraris, testing Range Rover trunk capacity at his local Ikea, working up a sweat in F1 simulators, and cleaning London road grime off his Miata. He also enjoys quizzing auto CEOs on whether an electric sports car can ever truly exist (spoiler: Gordon Murray says yes). Other publications that Alistair has written for include Wired, Forbes, BBC Science Focus, The Independent, T3, and Grand Designs Magazine. He also occasionally dabbles with YouTube, photography, and podcasting.
