Wahoo Fitness unveils new Wahoo Blue SC for cyclists
If you're a cyclist that spends a lot of time riding a bike around the city to get to and from work or just for fun, Wahoo Fitness has a new bicycle speed and cadence sensor the works with the iPhone 4S smartphones you might want to have a look at. The Wahoo Blue SC Speed and Cadence Sensor is the world's first Bluetooth smart 4.0 cycling speed and cadence sensor that works in conjunction with the app that runs on the iPhone.
One of the most interesting features the new system offers is an odometer that tracks the lifetime distance ridden on your bicycle and stores the data inside your iPhone. This is an interesting way to keep track of all the miles you ride no matter which bicycle you attach the device to. The cadence sensor that attaches to the bicycle will also work with other apps including Cyclemeter and Strava.
The bicycle sensor operates on a pair of batteries that are good for up to two years so no charging is needed. The sensor will work with new iPhone 4S and the third-generation iPad, but will not work with earlier iPhone or iPad models. The sensor is also waterproof up to 5 feet so you don't have to worry about mud puddles or getting caught in the rain. The app and sensor combo is priced $59.99 and available right now online directly from Wahoofitness.com.
